Final Posting: AP Poll Finds Americans in a Hurry

I came across this new article, "AP Poll Finds Americans in a Hurry" just as I had finished grading the Romeo and Juliet timed essays. A few of you chose time as the cause of their deaths; you supported your belief with evidence showing some characters rushing while others took their time.
So why are we always rushing? What does the article say about the pace of youth versus age? How is this connected to Shakespeare's play?

yea... i kinda heard about that...
it's really interesting how fast-paced america really is.. we'er always in rush to do something.. even the most stupid little thing! i think we always rush to do everything, because we have become so involved in our lives that we always find ourselves dealing with deadlines, due dates, and other things to that nature that we are constantly trying to meet. i think that over time, we think everything has to be done by a certain time, leading us to rush and get as much as you can done. i think the article is trying to say that people need to slow down and relax a little more. for most things, we have deadlines to meet, but for other things, we have our entire lives to do. i can see why, though, people get so frustrated when they are put on hold or have to wait in a line. i personally don't like doing tht either. the thing people hate most about waiting is wasting time. it's the fact that you could be doing something else while you're waithing that bothers people. i also think that as we get older we lose patience because we feel that we that we have less and less time left in our lives to do what we want. therefore the older people feel that they need to do what they need to do while they can. this connects to romeo and juliet because of juliet's parents wanting to marry her off to someone, particularly Count Paris. romeo and juliet wanted to marry right away. romeo didn't think things through and killed himself, just before juliet woke up.
wow not quite you see many people have a really get in Huge rush i belive that the American people just need to think of their time wisely not just an Old Soviet Bread line it is to notice the sceldure

I totally agree with Gabby. Like me.. I'm rushing to finish these blogs. I learned at an early age that there is a time and a place for everything. I'm a very impatient person;that's one of my TRAGIC flaws. Maybe it wasn't the right time for Romeo and Juliet to get married. They could've waited. But that's what you get when you rush through things. THINK BEFORE YOU DO..
the world has become impatient over the years. in a society that is too busy to do something that takes time no wonder we lose patience when it takes time. hurry seems to be a human thing the only diference is time and hurry has begun to take over our lives. the problem is when we are in a rush to make more time the time we had seems to slip through our fingers.
if we weren't so keyed to go somewhere then maybe we'd relax and do what we wish: our lives seem not to just about survival anymore. when people become rash we head for disaster maybe this is the begining of the tragedy of the human race and maybe a new inteligence will rise to take our place learning what we have already derived from the worlds secrets. there are mysteries lurking in the future that may never reach human knowledge.
The blog is now closed for bonus points. Mrs. Henry
