I havent read this so im going with what ms henry said but i think its pitifull that none of you who are reading this book has posted a single thing. your smart get writing.
on the outside you may seem fine while inside you are being tormented by your own thoughts. Margaux is probobly going through the same expierence and she feels she cant fall apart and make a public scene. when danny comes along Margaux feels she can confide in him and not be torn apart.
i think why Marguax is so attracted to this guy is because she is trying to find something different, something other than what she sees and the behavior of the people and friends she hangs out with; she's yearning for an excape from the life she hates so much and when she comes across this guy she feels as if he's her way out.
I don't get why Margaux is so hard on herself. It seems like she hates her life and doesn't like to talk to anyone about it. That leads her to think bad thoughts, and leads her to be hard on herself. I don't understand why she can't find another way to express her fealings besides her own thoughts.
I think Margaux is affrade to express her self to anyone. She might no trust the people around her so she cant tell them anything.

Yes, I'm having some trouble reading this book to. I do understand most of it, but whats bothering me is why Margaux is always doing what Sara tells her to do. I think it's because she's using Sara as a shield to hide her true self from others, but I'm not shure. Does anyone else have any other interpertations on this?
I agree with Kassie. I think Margaux uses big vocabulary words to show people that she's not just a pretty face, she's smart too. I also think she uses these words to confuse people about how she really feals inside.
I don't understand why Margaux can all of a sudden express herself to Danny when she doesn't know him that well.
well i think that love can surprise you in so many ways and that Margaux just wants someone else to know her for the real her, someone that won't tell her something corny, but someone that will actually listen to her and give her advise that isn't fake.
Am I the only one or did everyone noticed that Margaux uses a lot of dard colors and animals when she is discribing people¿¿

Margaux expects Danny to treat her like every one else treats her but he shows her a lot of respect and treats her in a good respetful way
Margaux seems to relly hate her life and if so why does she do nothing about it. I mean Margaux has the right to choose what happens to her we cant possibly be in the total hands of fate because then we would live the lives of a vegatible, robotic in our actions and mostly dead. juliet chose romio because she had no control other wise could teh same be with Margaux? did she feel it was impossible to get out?
Matt I also noticed that Margaux uses a lot of dark colors to describe things. I think it's like kassie said she's depressed and this effects the way she sees things. To Margaux happiness has just dissapered.
I think that Margaux is totaly shocked at how Danny just treats her like a regular person. I think this is why she hangs out with him so much.
I'm not shure but I think that her parents have a lot to do with her depression. They most likely didn't pay enough attention to her when she was little.
popularity seems to bring depression for quite a few people because they are are expected to be perfect is Margaux feelin the same way?
can danny be the one person that sees margauxs need for someone who doesnt see her as celeb status or does he relly have an alteior motive?
i think that the reason why margaux is how she is, is becuase as a child she was abused or maybe raped by a guy named tony at the race track and her dad didnt protect her from it. she useswords like blood, red, wounds to describe things, which connects to her childhood. and also it says thats her father is dead to her[she told a lady that hes dead].
ignore the comment i posted above. after now finding out why margaux is how she is, i understand her now. she hates her father cause he was paying off debt to tony by take pictures of her in underware when she was 10. earlier in the book i had a hard time connecting tony and her dad together, but later on in the book i started to get it. do you really think her dad feels sorry for what he did? or do you think that he is just happy that he wasnt hurt?
when descibing danny's and evie house, they use the color blue alot. does this show that they are sad or had a sad life? or is it descibing the past?
i think that danny is kinda like his father, because when he was little, his dad had a temper and beat danny up, and when danny got mad at the ownwers of neglecting their dog, he beat up their car. does this show that danny will become like his father? or does it show that he has a bad temper due to his childhood?
with depception, margaux uses it alot. she does towards sara, her parents, and basically everone except danny, because everyne expects her to be a flirty snobby dumb girl who is just a girl with a pretty face, when she really isnt. and no one see's that.[expect danny] and also no one knows what she has gone through or whats going on with her family now. how does the book use your theme topic?
My theme topic is love and well she's in love with Danny. At first she doesn't realise why she always wants to be around him so much, but later she starts to figurre out that she's in love.

what is with the refrences to camera's and photos? I don't get it. Does she not like her picture taken? Or was there a bad incident involving a camera? Anyone have any ideas?

I am having a hard time trying to figure out my theme [time] in this book. but for love i think that love was lost between Margaux and her family but it was found between her and Danny. Does any else see this¿
i agree with matt about the love for her family. For time i've found some forshadowing and a lot of refrences to the past. There are probably a lot more refrences to time that I just haven't found yet
this book looks like it would relate alot to our lives, from what i see it is about a popular girl in love with a geek. thats strange, does this book take place in modern times or a long time ago?
This book obviously takes place in the present due to the modern technology and also there is a lot of clothing descriptions that should be a clue as to pinpoint the decade. I believe this takes place pretty close to now. this will work for time and a few other themes.
Kassie noticed the clues for Margaux's anger and realized why. But did anyone notice at the beginning at the racetrack when Margaux picked that horse that was used to being raced the horse could be her having boys come up to her and try to flatter into a date. Shes used to it and she wants them to go away. The horse is tired of racing and bing expected to win so he stops trying.
I dont understand why Margaux's dad would sell her out to get out of debt¿ He shuld of found a different way like sell some of his stuff or get a real job and stop his wife from bying every thing she sees on tv. Who else thinks that would be a better way¿
this books seems interesting. What exactly is it about? Is she from a broken family or does she alot of problems? It seems like it reading the comments.
Margauxs grudge against her parents has altered her perspective and thats why she listens to sara, its her way of always getting away from them while keeping teh only thing shes had to a friend alive. Margaux doesnt want to burn bridges. for Margaux danny is a real change he actually cares about her and he has some thing in common. Danny treats Margaux as a real person not just som prize hanging on the wall she can tell him she likes school and not have him stare at her.
