A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks

Isn't this classic girls!! Why do the shy ones always go for the town's tormented bad boy? Is love blind for Jamie and Landon? Or is it Jamie's tragic flaw to want to rescue him? Or is their love controlled by fate? What deception is going on? Does Jamie use time to her advantage? How will Landon and the Reverend get past their clash? Let's get those thoughts blogged!!

its amazing that it takes Landon such a long time to finaly realize that hes falling for Jamie but why does it take him such a long time to realize it? i think that it might actually be his tragic flaw.

I think that Landon is a good guy because he takes his time on everything wit jaime. But i think that it could be his, culture clash/disorder.

the reason why the girls always go for the bad boys because the girls like bad boys when they do bad things...lol

why is it that Landon denies that he has feelings for Jamie, or that they hang out? Is it because he is so worried what other people think, and therefore insicure of him self? Or is he just scared of him self falling in love with someone, that isnt the "hot, cool, popular girl at school, but the sweet, warm person who is Jamie?

why do the good girls always like the bad boys? well, personaly i think good girls like the bad boys because its diffrent than what their used to, the same boring ordinary life they live. Wanting a bad boy means, you dont get bored and its exciting lots of girls like the challenge.

why is it that every time Landon comes to visit Jamie, her dad doent like him very much?

At 8:23 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i think landon is a nice and good guy too but he never really thaught of jamie as more than a girl he knew till now. when she started wharing her hair down and looks good isnt that just a little bit weird in some way?

At 8:23 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

The reason why Jaimie's dad doesn't like Landon is because he feels like he needs to protect Jaimie from Landon and his rep.He knows that his daughter isn't popular and seeing Landon with his daughter all of a sudden makes him wonder why and whats he up to.

At 8:26 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

The reason why Landon denies his feelings for Jaimie is because not only does he want anyone konwing that he likes such a geek is because he hasn't yet admitted it to himself; he's still confused about the whole Jaimie fact.

At 7:03 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

ya i understand that jamies dad is trying to protect jamie but he also knows that shes dying and doesnt know how long she has to live so dont you think that he should let her live the rest of her life the way she wants to?do u think thats fare?

At 8:48 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i know what your saying too, its just because of the fact that he lost his wife already and that devistates him.he fears that one day Jaimie is going to leave him and wants to spend as much time with her as he can. i think that could be related to each topic; TRAGIC FLAW because when the day comes of Jaimie's leaving he won't know how to handle it. LOVE because he does this out of love for her, TIME because eventually her FATE will arrive and DECEPTION because he's not straight forward with his feeling to Jaimie

At 9:20 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i think that he's just still devistated over the death of his wife and he'sm just clinging on to Jaimie for fear that the day will come any day now. this could relate to each theme; TRAGIC FLAW because when the time comes, he won't be able to handle her death, LOVE because he only does this out of love, TIME because her FATE will come in a matter of time and DECEPTION because he's not exactly forward to Jaimie about his feelings of the situation.

Landon can be a naughty person but he's not the jerk in the city of Beaumont but although he has a love felling its not just the civil disorder or culture clash he maybe whats occuring in him but he his always a funny person but let face it Landon knew that Jamie had a disease which really upset.

Have any of you guys noticed that Jamie leads up to questions through out the book, on how lifes important, think about the future, what plans lay ahead and if things happen for a reason? She is a deep thinker i can tell, and might be nervous of what might come. I thik she knows somthing huge that Landon doesnt know, or is keeping secret from him.

why is it that every time Landon comes to visit Jamie, her dad doent like him very much?

well i think natalie, that Hegbert cares and loves Jamie so much that its not that he doesnt like Landon, but wants to protect her, and possibly him, of both getting crushed of FATE, and what lays ahead.

At 1:45 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

ya alicia i know what you meen its like jamie is trying to explain to landon that hes not doing all of these sencior things for her but hes doing it out of the kindness of his heart and that not landon sort of knows when jamie wants to ask him somthing because she alwasys asks sort of a random question about the bibal or about somthing thats happened to her its sort of a tragic flaw of hers in some way because shes always shy befor she asks somthing.

Throughout the book, Eric is always taunting Landon about Jaimie, but when around Jaimie, like Landon says, he seems kind of guilty- i think this characteristic of his is deceptive. I think that he doesn't have much of a problem with Jaimie, to him its just a matter of fitting in like wise with Landon.

At 12:37 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

when do u think the readers first fofound out when landon liked jamie or the opposite? i think landon started to like jamie in that special way because he helps her out and jamie knows when to get to close or not and because shes sick she realizes that she can never be close to anyone.

wow how amazing i barely remebered the part about how he saw jamie taking the role as an Angel well you guys know that this scence is interresting first she shows a beautiful glamor which the author describes secon my fate was how Jamie would express beauty with fate.

At 9:39 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

that part of the scence of that book even though after the play that jamie and the rest of the class ended but to
myself it is really showing a lot of fate.Landon likes to really glance at the angel thats sweet.

At 2:31 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

wow this part really shows the best fate you know landon really got something really special for jamie well landon at first encourage the play then sad part would be that at home where landon lives she porbably make a sweet attitude towards landon.

hi i just want too say that A walk to remember is a great story if u like love stories. i can't beleive that Jaime had cancer. That was A total shock!!! I was surprised that she did'nt tell landon because Landon was pretty close to to her.

At 8:42 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

yo, Landon felt very deeply touch by Jamie because during the play Landon felt that the fate that he would see was amazing because last time when during group discussion i mentioned that Jamie would get the Fate to play the role of an Angel but when i read this novel I well make sure to keep an eye on this Fate whether or not. But after this story who knows the fate would occur when this novel will show dramatic parts

At 5:44 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

this book was so sad even though i had seen the readers it just seemed like a total shocker to me. i didn't want to read ahead because i knew once she said the words i would be looking at the couple as a tragic romance instead of them as the couple who knew how to love eachother in every single way possible.

At 6:04 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

This book teaches so many lessons; one is something that deals with my theme; deception. You shouldn't be so quick to judge someone by what you see. Another is that you shouldn't let your friends guide your actions but rather your heart.don't be so down when doing the right thing because it just might work out to your benefit. Lastly for the theme of love, is that you don't truely love someone unless you can look at the person and see that all of their imperfections as a gift and another reason to love them for.

At 6:37 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

at the end of the book it only mentions how Landon was able to cope with her death, but what about the others who knew her? how do you think they handled and excepted her death-
particularly the orphans and most importantly her dad?

At 6:03 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i think deception is huge in this novel, you shouldnt be so jugemental and only look whats on the outside. i fully agree with roxanne

At 6:06 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

This book is so good and powerfull, but so sad. i never actaully cried while reading a book, or sqweeked of excitment for Landon and Jamie. This book is my fav.

At 6:15 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Fate and person vs. nature/fate is a big part of this book. poor jamie... knowing that Landon loves her and her knowing she feels the same way, and having to disconnect that becuase of cancer is emotionaly painful, and sad.

focusing on her non-future, and present, knowing she will pass away in a matter of time, and acting as normal in the beg. is amazing how she servived just that.

At 6:59 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

o my god this book is getting alot better every page that i read beacause it is so sad...

At 8:55 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

wow this book barely showed a littlefate but when i read the book Landoon and his pals found out the girl Jamie got this disease called Leukimia but when i found out some touching stories i knew that Jaimie would not risk alife which would not shw fate but all the blubblering looks didn't really mean a single fate that was shocking

At 6:27 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

ok so this book was really good i would so read it again too!i thaught that there was alot of tragic flaws throughout the book both landon, jamies father and jamie had all had a point in there lives where there was a tragic flaw from the way that landon treated jamie at the biggining of the book to when he asked her to marry her.

At 6:30 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i thaught it was so sad that hegbert let his baby walk down the way she did so week but still had the bit f strength to walk down the isle.

At 7:03 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i just realized that time is HUGE in this book. Jamie only had a less than a year to live. She need to please the orphans more than ever on christams, make her father happy, join and become the angel in the play, and connect with landon.

At 7:09 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

in the beg. Landon had a flaw. a flaw that blocked out his emotions towards jamie. he wanted to fit in so bad, he alwasy denied jamie, yelled at her, and even told a few lyes and other things behind her back. as the book continues he slowy finds himself, and becomes more secure.

At 7:13 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

wow... not until alicia mentioned that i realized fate took such a big role in this book; i think that it was fate that took her life and that Landon had fallen in love with her... like when he was reading the bible, he read this one passage that told him what he should do for her...

At 4:21 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i think that love and fate has the most impact in this book. All the things that are said in this book is all fate and love. Landon also really wanted to fit and that's one of his tragic flaw.

At 4:42 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I wonder if Jamie knew that Landon was falling for her? I also wonder if Jamie knew that she liked Landon in the first place. What does it mean where Jamie said that she was always praying for Landon?

At 5:43 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I just don't believe a terrible event that would shatter the Class of 58 would see the only student at school but thats just very sad Jamie did not believe her dream was lost to grad. so I feel a sad event would make me blubber.

At 6:09 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i think that Landon had a lot of tragic flaws. such as tring to fit in the school crowd and also thinking about only himself, no one else. Jamie in the ohter hand is very nice and she thinks of other people first and not try at all to fit in the crowd. i wonder why people this differnt likes each other towards the end of the novel?

At 6:23 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I wonder what would have happened if Jamie's mom was still alive. Would Jamie be different then what happened in the novel?

At 9:14 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I finally read the book that story is really the final end I just know that Landon enters the world of his past. Well i kinda felt sad when Jamie got ill and Landon weeping

At 6:42 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i dont really think things would have changed if jamies mom was still alive. i think jamie would remain the same but her dad might be a little differnt of how he treats jamie like the way hes afraid of everything that he does but at the same time she knows that he loves her very much and its great that landon can understand all that like how he opens the door after their date letting her know that hes waiting for her inside.

At 9:23 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I think Landon denies the fact that he hangs around with Jamie is because he is worried about what his friends might think of him. He might be worried about the rumors that will be going around the whole school that he likes her. And plus this did happen in the novel already. The fact that he has feelings, he might deny that cause he doesnt know himself that he likes Jamie.

At 10:55 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i dont think that Jaimie would be much different... she seems to hav had all her goals in mind since like forever and if her mom would have changed her, i think that she would have made Jaimie a little more feminine instead of so covered up aand her true feelings and beauty so covered up

At 10:57 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i don't think that love and fate are the two main things; i think that each theme plays a huge role in not only this book but all the others, i mean if it didnt then ms henry wouldn have given it to us to focus on in the first place

At 4:20 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I guess the reason why it took Landon a long time to actually care for Jamie is because he didnt know then that he liked Jamie and also it took him long cause he didnt want other people, like his friends to know really whats going on between him and Jamie.

At 4:23 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I wonder why Jamie's dad marry Landon and Jamie together even though he doesnt like Landon.

At 4:34 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

soo i get the drift that landon was the popular guy and jamie was the virgin mary type. and it ended up that jamie had cancer. did she tell him right before she was about to die? did it affect landons life after wardds?

At 4:40 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i wonder why the author made the whole novel foreshadowing. I mean Landon being 57 yrs old and him telling what happened between him and Jamie in his senior year.

At 4:41 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i think its so cute that landon knows somthing is missing inside of him and when he searches for an answer he knew that he loved jamie and wanted to spend her last days being married as a last wish to jamie and to landon.

At 4:46 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I guess Landon isnt a bad guy. he does good things for others, like Jamie. but sometimes he just thinks about himself and no one else. but he did a lot of good things such as being in the play with Jamie and also collecting jars of money and than he felt sorry for Jamie cause there wasnt a lot of money so he put some of his money in the jar and pretened that the people donated all the money. these events might of happened because of him likeing Jamie also..

At 4:50 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I wonder why Jamie didnt tell Landon that she was sick with cancer earlier. In the beginning its not like both Jamie and Landon liked each other. So when the play started and they were getting closer why didnt she tell him that she was sick.

How do You react The Novel about the fate towards the Landon and Jamie?

At 7:58 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Fate: How did i react? so.. this ws the first book i cried to, yes i was in tears reading this book. it was so sad, i wanted to do something so bad, or should i say Landon. I guess it was her fate to pass away at such an early age. But also fate was when they feel in love. She already new from the beg. she would fall in love with him, and he would fall in love with her. so i took fate in a good way and sad way.

At 8:17 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I can understand his reaction towards Jamie when she said that he cant love her. His reaction towards this i bet was unbearable. he proablly didnt understand her why he cant love her at first. But later on he helped out Jamie with the sickness and he was always beside her too..

At 8:52 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I just don't believe why did Landon feel so upset just to be so sorrowful towards a wonderful friend.
